This is a picture of a female subject. It is hot from a low angle and is in black and white. The image is significantly blurred with the grain effect being used post production. This gives the image a distorted outcome. the lack of colour has negative connotations such as sadness, this is supposed by this being part of a body of work about hallucinations. This photo appears as if it was taken outside at night time with little to no lighting. the unclear image creates an atmosphere of tension.

OBJECTIVE: shoot to experiment working with gel liquid
OBJECTIVE: shoot to experiment working with gel liquid
I think this photo shoot went well. I used two different surfaces to apply the gel and they gave me different results. The second material I used was a glass fish tank which allowed my subject to put their head through on the opposite side. I shot against a black backdrop which made the gel stand out and used only one source of light facing upwards to create shadows and also it meant that the light didn't reflect in the surface. I think that the gel distorted the subjects face really well, the audience would be able to make out the subject behind the gel and surface, however, the subjects facial features are unclear which fulfills the theme of distortion.
