ARTIST RESEARCH
Flora BorsiBorsi is a fine art photographer who specialises in surrealism and photo manipulation. she creates bodies of work that represent a number of different things such as identity, relationships, emotions and many more. the majority of her work centres around female subjects .
her work has been recognised in many magazines and awards. It has also been shown in many galleries. |
This is one of my favourite images from Borsi's 'IREEL' unit. i like this because of the bold vivid colours. the orange paint makes the image stand out and it also slightly hide the models face, adding a bit of mystery to the image.
Borsi has applied paint to a surface and then shot the subject through it, although the image is take inside it would appear to one source of light coming from a light angle on the right side of the image. This image was not heavily reliant on post production processes. the models face being hidden creates a mysterious atmosphere within the image. |

OBJECTIVE: PHOTOSHOOT TO EXPERIMENT SHOOTING WITH GLASS BARRIER
I thought this photoshoot went okay, however, there were many issues that eld me to be slightly displeased with the out comes. i shot against a white background so that my subject would not be drowned out, instead she stands out against the background . I attempted to use clamshell lighting however the light reflected in the glass sheet and could be seen in the images. This gave the images a negative outcome. The glass sheet its self was incredibly scratched which at first i thought would add to the effectiveness of the image but instead it hindered the outcome. I decided for my next shoots i would perhaps try to use different textures of material and hopefully get a better outcome.

OBJACTIVE: SHOOT TOWARDS FINAL PIECE
This is one of my favourite images from this photoshoot. the material used was slightly foggy which meant that the subject had to press up against it to be seen, this made the subjects features appear unclear and therefore gave the desired effect. The material was not reflective and therefore did not reflect the light back into the camera.

i think this image was okay. The model isn't facing the camera instead she's looking off to the right. you can just about make out her facial features. The lighting went well, the subject isn't over exposed.

PHOTOSHOOT THREE

OBJECTIVE: SHOOT TOWARDS FINAL PIECE
OBJECTIVE: SHOOT TOWARDS FINAL PIECE
This is my favourite image from my last photoshoot. it is an image of a female subject shot through a filter. the glass is unclear which helps to create the distortion effect. the subject is pressed up against the glass and is screaming. her facial expression is what makes this image even more effective. The model what shot against white which helped her stand out against the background. the photograph is of medium contrast which means that the subject doest blend in but she also doesn't stand out too much against the background. This image was taken inside with two sources of light to make sure that the subject was well lit. the subjects facial expression and her being behind the glass is y attempt as representing entrapment and evoking feelings of discomfort in the audience. |
PHOTOSHOP
I opened the image in photoshop and used spot healing tool to clean it up as there were a few make up stains on the glass
